  1. The issue was security at that moment. Rumour had it that we had to build security first and then and only then would business grow. It didn’t actually happen that way. We at Unisys were working with an Atlanta security start-up called ‘first virtual’, and we had developed together the concept of the virtual “bank vault”. The idea was that we would propose the vault to our banks and that once they had paid for that multimillion device and software licence, then and only then would they be able to develop true Internet banking. As a matter of fact, Internet Banking did develop itself but not with a vault or any complex security mechanism but with pure simple and stupid SSL. SSL was deemed flawed from the beginning.
